Course Registration

In order to register for an unpcoming course online, you must register for the stdptc.org site and be signed in first.  Click "Register" to create a new account, follow the on screen instructions for creating your account.  Once registration is complete, you can return here by clicking on "Courses" in the navigation menu at the top of the screen.  Information on registration will replace this text once logged in under a registered account.

STD Part-Time Intensive
This 3-day clinical course provides both didactic and experiential activities.  Health care professionals who work with STD patients full- or part-time are encouraged to attend. The course includes information about priority and prevalent STDs and offers clinical and laboratory experience. read more ...

STD Intensive
Health care practitioners (nurses, physicians, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners/midwives) who are new to the area of STD treatment or who wish a longer, more in-depth course are encouraged to attend.  The 5-day course includes information about a wide range of STDs (including HIV infection) and offers clinical and laboratory experience. read more ...

STD Update
STD Clinician Update Courses are seminars for practicing clinicians. The seminar may include clinical problem-solving, formal lectures and consultation time. These seminars will focus on a narrower range of STDs or specific issues in STD diagnosis and management. Learning and performance objectives are the same as for similar topics presented in the Part-Time Intensive courses. read more ...

STD 301 - Overview for Community Healthcare Workers
This seminar may include clinical problem-solving, formal lectures and break-out sessions. These seminars will focus on a narrower range of STDs or specific issues in STD risk assessment, screening, rapid HIV testing, and prevention strategies. Update courses can are 2 days in length and may be in combination with other courses. Learning and performance objectives are the same as for similar topics presented in the Part-Time Intensive courses. read more ...

STD 401 - Laboratory Skills Course
The laboratory course provides experience with procedures for performing specimen preparation and stat laboratory tests used to aid in the diagnosis of STDs, including bright and dark field microscopy, specimen preparation for Gram stain, gonorrhea culture, wet mount, KOH prep, rapid plasma reagin (RPR) card test, and DNA probe testing. read more ...
