This update provides an overview of the North Carolina STD testing and treatment protocols and revised communicable disease law for HIV testing.

Course Objectives:

1. Provide data and information to reconcile NC GC treatment protocol with CDC 2006 treatment guidelines.
2. Clarify policy regarding herpes testing, treatment and billing
3. Provide information on current procedures for UNC follow-up of Acute HIV infection.
4. Provide initial data on new criteria for chlamydia screening in NC.
5. Provide guidelines for compliance with changes in the law.
6. Discuss issues generating ongoing questions regarding RN recertification.
7. Provide information regarding online and other Branch resources.
